Barging Service

HLM is also offering container barging service along the Yangon river for our customers from our port to local industrial zones through Jetties in Hlaing Thar Yar and Shwe Pyi Thar so that we can avoid the traffic congestion along the road and reduce transport cost.

Two barges sailing currently operate daily. The average number of containers on the barge ranges from minimum 40 to maximum 100 TEUs. HLM also provides chartered barge transport to and from upper Myanmar regions, such as  Ta Gaung, Mandalay  and Aye Yar Waddy delta area including Twan Tay, Kyaik Lat, Nyaun Done, etc.

We are cooperating with Inland water transportation department under ministry of transport with their barges which have marine insurance for the barges.

More importantly, HLM barging service reduces diesel usage per container, reduces total carbon emission of transport routes supporting Hutchison group endeavor on green logistics, target of global greenhouse gases emission reduction and sustainability.
